Fellow Ethiopians in the Diaspora,Frequently Asked Information
Message from the Mayor of Dire Dawa Administration
Welcome to this page dedicated exclusively to maters pertaining to members of natïve-Ethiopians and Ethiopians in the Diaspora. We have named the page the ‘Bridge” because it is intended to serve as such linking you, the Ethiopians, residing abroad with the People of the Dire Dawa Administration.
It is hoped that the ‘Bridge’ will, in due time, become a two-way-communication medium that provide us the opportunity to forward opinions, make enquires, give explanations, and, of course, exchange of ideas.
The “Bridge” will have features such as messages to the Diaspora, news related to the Diaspora, noteworthy deeds by the Diaspora, success stories: investment by the Diaspora, attractive investment opportunities that the administration offers, the basic requirements for investing, areas in which the Diaspora can provide voluntary service, particular need areas seeking a helping hand from the Diaspora, establishing linkages with former schools, and the likes.
In other words, the “Bridge” is intended to help enhance the level of participation of the Diaspora in the developmental endeavours of the administration by providing it with pertinent information it seeks to know regarding its previlages, the roles it could play, and the roles that some of its members are at present playing at home.
I would like to conclude my brief message by expressing the strong commitment and sincere readiness of the administration to provide all the support it could to members of the Diaspora who desire to take part in the effort underway here to improve the livelihood of the residents – be it through investment, knowledge transfer, voluntary service, or any other worthy undertaking aimed at filling gaps existing in our public service delivery, or fostering creativity and problem solving, etc.
The “Bridge” extends to you, the members of the Diaspora, our invitation to become participants rather than indifferent onlookers of the concerted effort the residents of the administration are making now - like the work currently being done by people in all parts of Ethiopia - to improve their livelihood by extricating themselves from their age-old hardships.
Thank you!Frequently Asked Services
